SGS Supports the ILO Initiative “World Day for Safety and Health at Work”

April 28, 2015

Every year, 2.3 million workers die from accidents and work-related diseases and more than 313 million workers are injured. This means that today, 6,400 people will die from a work-related accident or disease and 860,000 people will be injured on the job*.

The promotion of decent, safe, and healthy working conditions and environment has been a continuous objective of the International Labor Organization (ILO) since it was founded.

At SGS, the aim of our Global Operational Integrity (OI) organization is to provide SGS Group with Best in Class Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture and performance, protecting the health and well-being of all our employees, visitors, contractors, customers and surrounding communities, as well as stakeholders. Through the recognition, evaluation, and control of personal and environmental hazards, our OI organization supports operations without compromising HSE values, elevating our HSE excellence and culture as a key competitive advantage.

September will be SGS Safety Month. We want all employees to be aware of the risks they face on a daily basis and take steps to manage those risks.

One message: “Hands on Health and Safety” and one shared goal: ZERO tolerance!"
