New, revised or amendments to EN 71 toy safety standards were published in 2014 Q1:

  • EN 71-1:2011+A3:2014 was published by CEN on 12 March 2014. There is a transitional period until 30 September 2014. The referencing in OJEU (harmonisation) is pending.
    This amendment includes guidance on the legibility and visibility of warnings


  • EN 71-2:2011+A1:2014 was published on 26 March 2014 There is a transitional period until 31 October 2014. The referencing in OJEU (harmonisation) is pending.
    This amendment includes editorial corrections to a test method and exclusion from highly flammable liquid requirement for cosmetic kits/olfactory board games/gustative games (toys covered by prEN 71-13)

  • EN 71-7:2014 was published on 2 April 2014. There is a transitional period until 31 October 2014. The referencing in OJEU (harmonisation) is pending.
    Revised standard includes revisions in order to comply with the 2009/48/EC Toy Directive

  • EN 71-13:2014 was published on 26 March 2014. There is a transitional period until 30 September 2014. The referencing in OJEU (harmonisation) is pending.
    New standard includes requirements specific for olfactory board games, cosmetic kits and gustative games
