International corporate best practices and emerging tools to support low carbon and climate-conscious consumption models will be discussed during this Summit.

Dr Ahmad Ansari, SGS Sustainability Manager for Central Eastern Europe and Jonathan Hall, SGS Global Head of the Climate Change Program will be presenting and animating both a conference and a discussion during this two days event.

Carbon footprinting plays an increasingly important role in the environmental and sustainability strategies of companies. The upcoming international standards constitute an important milestone in the uniform implementation of carbon management and when communicating with customers and stakeholders. Recipients of such information be they customers, end-consumers or stakeholders need to have trust in the information provided. This is particularly important when carbon footprint information is used in marketing claims and corporate communication.

The 5th PCF World Summit will address the issue of Credibility in Carbon Footprint Information, as related to assurance and verification, the emerging international standards, its consideration in different international initiatives and programmes and its practical relevance and implication for emerging economies and international trade.

During this two days event, SGS will present the topic of “Sound Carbon Footprint Assessment as the Basis for Verification and Credible Communication” and will participate in the discussion around “The Future of Credibility in Carbon Footprinting).
