SGS Acquires NviroCrop Group, Potchefstroom, South Africa

SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of NviroCrop, a leading South African precision agriculture services company, based in Potchefstroom, South Africa. A privately owned company founded in 2007, NviroCrop serves the agricultural industry providing the following services:

  • GPS soil and leaf sampling
  • GIS mapping, assessments and fertilizer recommendations
  • Soil classification
  • Independent agricultural advisory services for sustainability
  • Economic viability of currently active farm lands, plus new or reclaimed agricultural land

With 17 staff members in Potchefstroom, Langebaan, Johannesburg, a representative office in Lusaka Zambia and operations in Namibia, NviroCrop generated revenue in excess of ZAR 20 million in 2010.
