SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of Lippens Geotechniek (formerly known as Jan Lippens BVBA), a leading geotechnical engineering company based in Zulte, Belgium.
Founded in 1994 and privately owned, Lippens Geotechniek assesses the chemical and physical properties of soil and rock. Various drilling and sounding techniques are utilized to obtain geotechnical parameters which are then used in the design of geotechnical structures such as foundations, earthworks, dams etc. Currently operating with 10 specialists, it is complementary to the existing SGS geotechnical business in Belgium, Australia and the Far East and will diversify our current range of services and products for SGS customers in the private and public sectors in the Benelux and France. It generated revenues in excess of Euro 1.3 million in 2010.
