On June 3, 2010, SGS Vostok Limited, the Russian subsidiary of the SGS Group, attended the conference, entitled "Significant Issues of Industrial Safety Assurance at Industrial Sites" in Moscow. The conference presented a perfect opportunity for SGS to talk about its extensive experience in the field of industrial safety and occupational health.

Organized by the Committee for Technical Regulation, Standardization and Conformity Assessment of the Russian Union of Industrials and Entrepreneurs and by the Institute for Industry Development with the support of the Russian Ministry for Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry for Regional Development, Rostekhnadzor, Rostekhregulirovaniye, Glavgosexpertiza, VNIIPO of the Ministry for Emergency Situations and the Industrial Safety Centre, the conference focused on the need for reformation of the Russian legal framework in the field of industrial safety. Furthermore, the conference attendees had a unique chance to learn about new trends in accreditation and self-regulation of expert organizations as well as about the perspectives of introducing mandatory insurance for the owners of hazardous industrial sites.

The event presented an excellent occasion for SGS to demonstrate its extensive experience in the field of industrial safety and occupational health as well as Russian regulations. During the conference, Vladimir Ovcharov, Head of Product Certification and Industrial Safety at SGS Vostok Limited, held an interesting presentation entitled "European Union’s Experience in the Field of Industrial Safety and Occupational Health at Hazardous Industrial Sites". Attendees of the conference had a perfect opportunity to learn about EU experience in the area of industrial safety and occupational health as well as to participate actively in the discussion.
