SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of Ustav Paliv a Maziv, a.s. (UPM).
UPM operate two laboratories in the Czech Republic (Prague and Kolin), which perform fuel testing, fuel conformity assessments and engine testing services. UPM are the market leaders in the Czech Republic for independent fuel testing.
Founded in 1997 and privately owned, the company has 48 employees and reported revenues in excess of
CZK 60 million (CHF 3.8 million) in 2008.
"The acquisition of UPM provides SGS with a unique opportunity to increase significantly our fuel testing capacity in Central Europe, strengthening SGS’ offering in the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries with facilities and a team of qualified professionals", commented Chris Kirk, CEO of SGS.
