SGS Acquires Technical Engineering Service Corporation (Tesco) Co Ltd in South Korea

SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of Tesco Co Ltd, based in Suwon, South Korea. Tesco provides reliability testing and precision measurement of electronic systems and components as well as on-line and off-line technical content services.

Founded in 1999 and privately owned, the strategic acquisition of Tesco extends the current service offering and capabilities of SGS's Consumer Testing Services. With over 90 employees Tesco generates revenues in excess of KRW 8.5 billion (USD 7.6 million) from two sites.

Commenting on the acquisition, Chris Kirk, CEO of SGS said: "This acquisition is in line with SGS’ growth strategy and will further diversify Consumer Testing Services in Korea by offering comprehensive electromagnetic compatibility, safety, reliability testing and contents service to manufacturers."
