SGS Agricultural Services is pleased to announce the opening of its newest soil testing laboratory in response to the development of Precision Agriculture in North America.

The laboratory is located in Brookings, South Dakota in the same premises as our seed testing laboratory. These additional capabilities in the western side of the American Midwest will complement our soil testing laboratories in Toulon, IL (SGS Mowers Soil Testing Plus Inc) and in Belleville, IL (SGS Alvey Labs Inc).
Soil testing is vital to knowing and managing fields to their highest productive capabilities. The goal of SGS is to provide growers and dealers with information regarding nutrient levels in the soil that will optimize input purchase and application in the field. With accurate test data, farmers can vary the rate of fertilizers across the fields according to the need identified by GPS guided grid soil sampling.

Input costs and grain prices have risen to allow for a larger profit or loss if all resources are not managed to their potential. SGS Agricultural Services understands agriculture, industry needs and works to supply its customers with the best service and analysis to make your business and ours a success. SGS will perform routine N, P, and K plus micronutrient analysis to provide customers with greater understanding of soil fertility and nutrient recommendations can be included with results. SGS can also provide nutrient and pH grid mapping services available in addition to variable rate fertilizer application prescriptions.
