SGS Acquires Geostat Systems International Inc

SGS is pleased to announce the strategic acquisition of Geostat Systems International Inc., a company headquartered in Montreal, Canada.

Founded in 1981, Geostat is the recognised industry leader specialising in geostatistics, orebody modeling, resource estimation, exploration, prefeasibility, production and reclamation stage services and generated revenues in excess of $1.7 million in 2007. The Company has 13 employees and uses the services of a number of specialist external consultants to perform their work.

“This acquisition strengthens SGS’ orebody modeling capabilities for geometallurgical applications and adds resource estimation services to SGS’ broad range of services available to mining sector clients. It also follows our strategic drive to offer services across the entire minerals value chain," said Chris Kirk, CEO.
