GSCP Audits

The increasing popularity of ethical trading has spawned a raft of certification, audit and verification schemes operating different monitoring methods and report formats.

The Global Social Compliance Program (GSCP), a cross-industry organization, has developed a set of GSCP reference tools to help companies evaluate their policies and programs against best practices incorporating major codes and standards.

SGS has designed audit protocols that are aligned to the reference tools and can deliver many benefits to the corporate customer:

Many companies have adopted Codes of Conduct relating to labor standards, health and safety conditions and environmental practices in the factories where their products are made and are requiring suppliers to comply with these as part of their terms and conditions of business.

Your GSCP equivalence audit, often referred to as a GSCP audit, will deliver a report detailing areas of compliance and good practice as well as any non-conformances and opportunities for improvement. The audit itself provides an opportunity for an external review of processes and is conducted in a positive way to allow suppliers to show how they are complying rather than as a policing exercise.
