SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of Environ Cientifica Ltda in Brazil (Environ).

Environ is the leading Brazilian Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene (OIH) laboratory with main testing services for organic and inorganic vapors, fugitive emissions, noises and vibrations. Environ is a highly regarded consultant in ergonomics. Other activities relate to environmental analysis for water, waste, atmospheric and indoor air.

Founded in 1991 and privately owned, it operates a state of the art laboratory in the San Bernardo district of Sao Paulo. It employs 100 experts and generated 2011 revenues in excess of BRL 14 Mio.

“This acquisition complements our Environmental Services offering in the fast growing Brazilian market. Environ enjoys all required accreditations and qualifications, including AIHA and Inmetro 17.025, and will be our Center of excellence for our OIH services in South America” said Chris Kirk, CEO of SGS.
