BS EN 16001 - Awareness Training - Energy Management Systems

This training has been designed to help you understand the essential principles of the standard as a business improvement tool. The BS EN 16001 standard guides the development and implementation of an Energy Management System (EMS) that address the individual needs of an organization and provides continual improvements towards energy efficiency.

The training is an introduction for anyone involved in the development, implementation and management of an EMS based on BS EN 16001.

By the end of this training participants will be able to:

• Understand the guidance and application for energy management systems provided by BS EN 16001:2009
• Explain the purpose of BS EN 16001 and the benefits to an organization of using the Standard
• Outline key concepts and approaches to an energy management system
• Describe, with reference to Plan – Do – Check – Act cycle, the structure, scope and purpose of BS EN 16001
• Outline key BS EN 16001 definitions and terminology
• Briefly summarise relevant energy management legislation
• Identify sources of law and sources of information on energy management legislation
• Outline the key requirements of BS EN 16001

The training comprises lecture and workshop exercises.
