Unit Operations and Metallurgical Services
With standardized equipment, cutting-edge metallurgical testing and experienced technical experts, SGS has the expertise in many metallurgical unit operations to provide testing and circuit design programs that will allow you to achieve your objectives quickly and efficiently. The integrated depth and breadth of our technical services means that your metallurgical testwork is carried out efficiently and informed decisions are made in a timely manner.
Our core philosophy is to understand the primary geological variability and how that controls the metallurgical performance across your deposit. We can then design, optimize and forecast metallurgical recovery and throughput based on these parameters. Independent, reliable, reproducible testing is the foundation of our approach.
SGS offers a comprehensive range of unit operations in support of flowsheet development and metallurgical process design including:
- Comminution and beneficiation
- Magnetic and electrostatic separation
- Gravity separation
- Pressure and ambient leaching
- Solvent extraction and electrowinning
- Ion exchange
- Arsenic stabilization
SGS has the efficient access to expertise and developments that you need for traditional or cutting edge metallurgical process design. Our strong commitment to partnerships and stringent quality control is geared to ensuring that you and your team obtain the optimal flowsheet that will deliver greater productivity and profitability for you.
You not only receive the best quality metallurgical services available, but also receive fully bankable reports, which enjoy high levels of credibility with the leading financial institutions. Our reputation for impartiality and neutrality gives you the assurance that no technologies or process routes are favored due to vested interests. Cu Leaching Using Regenerated Ferric Sulphate
This paper describes a novel approach, called the "Regenerated Ferric Sulphate Leaching (RFSL) process, in which the reoxidation of the ferrous ion is carried out under strictly atmospheric conditions, using so2/o2 mixtures as the oxidizing medium. The process is very effective and rapid, and the reoxidation step can be accomplished during the leach itself or in a seperate vessel.
