Carbonated rock formations (or karst) can develop cavities where groundwater can circulate. The dissolution of carbonated rocks can lead to underground collapses and structural damage to your site or building.

To avoid expensive damage to your site, our field studies can detect potential problems areas and formulate a plan for karst risk management. We undertake an initial study of your site to examine the local geology and soil stability data. By performing a documentary study as well as a few superficial drillings, we can give you recommendations for precautionary measures to take during site construction. In some cases, particularly where karstified zones are detected, we may need to use more sophisticated techniques to tackle karst risk management, such as geophysical investigations using tomography and microgravimetry.
