Our experienced analytical professionals and technicians can provide unparalleled test results for your uranium project. We have developed the expertise and stringent safety infrastructure needed to work with this commodity.
SGS is licensed to perform uranium analyses and assays at select facilities globally. Analytical services that we offer include:
MMI is a powerful geochemical exploration tool that enables companies to explore for areas deeply buried deposits. It can identify targets that have previously been missed by traditional surface geochemistry. MMI measures mobile metal ions, including uranium, in surface soils. These mobile metal ions are released from ore bodies and travel upward toward the surface. Using sophisticated chemical processes and instrumentation, MMI is able to measure these ions, in surface soils, to determine accurately where uranium mineralization is located.
SGS has many mineralogical tools for uranium minerals. These include electron microprobe, optical microscopy, image analysis, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Quantitative Evaluation by Scanning Electron Microscope (QEMSCAN®). Uranium minerals can be identified by XRD and their composition quantified using electron microprobe or QEMSCAN®. This equipment determines uranium in trace phases or can highlight environmental concerns.
SGS offers you the unique advantage of combined skill sets, industry expertise and handling protocols that you won’t find anywhere else. Partner with us for reliable, safe uranium analytical testing, on-time and on-budget.
