BS EN 16001 - Internal Auditor - Energy Management Systems

This training aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively implement and audit in an organization already possessing an Environmental Management System (EMS).

On training completion you will be able to:

  • Understand the clauses of BS EN 16001and their relationships
  • Identifying the main differences between BS EN 16001 and ISO 14001
  • Recognize how to integrate BS EN 16001 in an Environmental Management System
  • Describe the responsibilities of an internal auditor and the role of internal audits in the maintenance and improvement of EnMS in accordance with BS EN 16001
  • Plan and prepare for an internal audit, gather audit evidence through observation, interview and sampling of documents and records
  • Write factual audit reports that help to improve effectiveness
  • Suggest ways in which the effectiveness of corrective action might be verified

The training comprises presentations, workshops and role-play exercises.

Please Note: Participants should already possess basic awareness of ISO 16001 and an understanding of the energy management issues.
