Registration Dossier

The process of REACH registration can be complex and challenging. With SGS as your REACH partner, you have experts to support you every step of the way with both laboratory testing and the preparation of your REACH registration dossier.

SGS can handle submission of all dossiers to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) on your behalf. Our experts will manage the technical, scientific and administrative aspects of the REACH system at industry level.

• Compilation of available data and data gap analysis, ideal for Substance Information Exchange Forum (SIEF) discussions
• Substance characteristics assessment (i.e. physicochemical, toxicological, eco-toxicological testing) 
• Communication with your supply chain to formulate exposure scenarios (ES) and risk management measures (RMM)
• Writing of the technical dossier 
• Producing a chemical safety assessment (CSA) and chemical safety report (CSR) as required 

SIEF preparation and complex inventory

SGS will prepare you for entry into the SIEF and start preparation of your REACH registration dossier by compiling the complex inventory. This includes collecting the data required for submission to ECHA and identifying any gaps to ensure that the decisions of the forum are made on the basis of sound information.

REACH laboratory testing (GLP)

As your accredited testing partner, we offer a range of services through our global network of facilities, including physicochemical, toxicological and eco-toxicological testing. We can also analyze substance identification and produce impurity profiles.

Joint submission dossier

Our experts can evaluate the quality of the data collected by the SIEF and compile the joint part of the dossier for you, providing:

• Robust study and endpoint summaries
• Information on classification
• Information on labeling and safe uses
• Testing proposals

Separate submission dossier

In addition of the joint part of the dossier submitted by the lead registrant, each organization must submit an individual dossier containing information specific to their own organization. Our consultants can help you collect this information, prepare and submit the dossier to the ECHA.

The information includes:

• Manufacturer/importer
• Identity of the substance (purity, impurities etc.)
• Manufacture and uses
• Exposure

Chemical safety report (CSR)

SGS can help to assess any risks arising from the manufacture or uses of your substance. Our consultants will evaluate any hazards, calculate the PNECs and DNELs and assess the PBT/vPvB properties of the substance. If required they can also develop exposure scenarios, characterize risks and prepare extended Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
