VDA 6 - Quality Management (Suppliers in European and German Automotive Industry)

If your organization wants to supply products and services to the European automotive industry, including the German automobile industry, you must meet the VDA 6 (Verband Der Automobilindustrie/VDA Automotive) standard.

VDA 6 applies to Fiat, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, SEAT, Peugeot Citroën, Renault and Daimler AG. In the United States VDA 6.1 has been mandatory for first-tier Volkswagen suppliers since 1997.

Suppliers to the automotive industry may also choose the ISO/TS 16949 standard for quality requirements. ISO/TS 16949 covers the requirements of the QS 9000, VDA 6.1, AVSQ and EAQF standards and is accepted as an alternative to these standards by European and other major automotive manufacturers.
