Material Composition Testing

SGS automotive material composition testing – including Charpy and Izod impact tests – helps you meet regulatory requirements for safety and other criteria.

The testing of automotive materials is vital since it helps to enhance driver and passenger safety, as well as to prove the durability of components and/or the whole vehicle. We perform tensile strength tests and high strain-rate tests (e.g. the Charpy impact test) to ensure compliance with the relevant industry standards. These standards include those issued by the Deutsches Institut für Normung, or German Institute for Standardization (e.g. DIN 53435 – the testing of plastics by bending, impact).

With years of experience in automotive testing and a global reputation for accuracy, independence and short processing times, we are the ideal partner for your material composition testing.
