Corrosion Testing

This process can ensure your compliance with industry standards, such as those issued by the Deutsches Institut für Normung, or German Institute for Standardization (e.g. DIN EN ISO 9227).

Salt spray test (DIN EN ISO 9227)

This standard describes the spraying of a salt solution in a testing chamber, either at 35ºC or 50ºC. Salt mist testing is common practice within the automotive industry, where materials, equipment and components are exposed and expected to comply with DIN EN ISO 9227 as well as:

• IEC 60068-2-11 (International Electrotechnical Commission): Environmental testing - Part 2: Tests/Test Ka: Salt mist
• DIN EN 60068-2-52 (Environmental testing - Part 2: Tests - Test Kb: Salt mist, cyclic)

• Telcordia GR-63
