Quarantine Fumigation of Wood and Timber

SGS’s quarantine fumigation service for wood and timber helps ensure that your trade in wood products and artifacts complies with international phytosanitary regulations.

Thanks to our global network, our experts can perform the necessary timber fumigation treatments at the points of either exportation or importation. In terms of export, we can provide pre-shipment certification of the relevant quarantine treatment, which may vary according to the destination(s).

In addition to issuing certificates, we perform heat treatment and fumigation of wood and timber products under the supervision of the appropriate phytosanitary authorities. When fumigating products, we ensure the suitable protocol is used regarding concentration and selection of fumigant (e.g. phosphine, methylbromide, sulfurylfluoride) – always taking care to follow the relevant safety, quality and environmental guidelines.
