Codex Verified Approval Scheme

SGS’s Codex verified product approval scheme is a process of factory audits and product testing against the product standards recommended by the Codex Alimentarius commission. Thanks to our independence, internationally-renowned testing methods and holistic approach to product quality, this product certification scheme can help ensure food safety and assist in your regulatory compliance.

Founded in the 1960s by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), the Codex Alimentarius commission provides internationally harmonized food standards. Now recognized worldwide, the Codex food standards solution is a single international reference point for consumers, food producers and processors, government food control agencies and international food trade.

We align our testing protocols with the Codex Alimentarius product standards, auditing protocols and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) approach. In addition, we comply with any product regulations specific to the country where the product is to be sold. Where local regulations are stricter than the Codex standards, products must comply with the minimum standards set locally.
