Pre-Shipment Inspection - Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan employs pre-shipment inspections (PSI) to facilitate international trade while protecting the health and safety of consumers, reducing the import of illegal/counterfeit products and protecting import revenues.

At SGS we have over 40 years’ experience, in more than 40 countries, implementing PSI programs. For Uzbekistan we conduct both PSI of Imports and Value validation for selected trade transactions. The scope of the PSI mandate is to ensure the quality, quantity, eligibility, customs value and price list for the goods to be imported.

Validation of external trade transactions requires us to contact the exporter and/or supplier, as declared by the importer in Uzbekistan, to obtain documentation and information supporting the value of the transactions. All data collated by SGS is for the sole use of the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan and is strictly confidential. Our validation of transactions is carried out on the basis of objective and non-discriminatory procedures and criteria.
