Since 1977, SGS Minerals Services has been providing inspection services to the US Gulf Coast with operations in Mobile, Pascagoula, Davant, Myrtle Grove, St. Rose, Baton Rouge and Houston. Annually, SGS provides quality and/or quantity verification on over 15 million tons of petroleum coke produced by some 20 separate refineries across the US.

SGS laboratories use a computerised “Laboratory Information Management System” (LIMS). This proprietary software performs all calculations and permits for the evaluation of analytical data to assure that the laboratory can deter, detect and correct the generation and communication of incorrect data.

All SGS laboratories participate in a monthly Laboratory Quality Services International (LQSi) petroleum coke round robin program. The test results are statistically evaluated by LQSi and returned to the respective laboratory for review and/or corrective action in case of any excessive variation, bias, and/or trending.

Safety
SGS Minerals has developed and promotes an OSHA structured Safety program that includes employee safety training, pre-employment background checks, incentive program and a drug testing policy. The program is administered on both local and corporate levels that allow for our Experienced Modification Rate (EMR) to be well below our industry standards.
